Two Minutes Hate
audience participation
2 minutes + 20 foam pool noodles + 1 Pussy Riot song = Two Minutes Hate.
Inspired by George Orwell’s 1984 and experimental therapeutic practices of the 1970s, this interactive performance invited witnesses to become performers in an endurance action to playfully and vividly work out their aggression as a group. The spectacle visually echoed contemporary images of police aggression and Russian art punk activist group Pussy Riot.
